Chapter 1: New Beginnings in 2024

However, let’s be real—many of you might still be in bed, negotiating with your kids to watch cartoons while you recover from last night’s festivities. If you’re among the fortunate ones who celebrated moderately, perhaps you’re already sipping coffee and contemplating the first articles of the year.

I opted for a quiet evening with a glass of wine rather than indulging in wild partying. The days of youthful revelry are behind me, and I’m prepared to write.

One of the first things I noticed today was a significant milestone: I’ve reached 40,019 followers! While it would have been great to capture an even 40,000, this is still a noteworthy achievement:

This number represents a sizable community—40,000 people who resonate with my writing. It got me thinking about the potential impact of such a following, especially with 441 dedicated subscribers.

No matter your rank in this community—be it general, lieutenant, or private—your voice is essential. We face a world in need of change, and as the saying goes, “The pen is mightier than the sword.” We must take action, especially on this first day of the year.

It’s time to advocate for equality and justice. The need for kindness and acceptance is more pressing than ever. The Beatles had it right over sixty years ago with their message: “All You Need is Love.” Yet, we find ourselves still fighting for equality today.

I often wonder why some people struggle with the idea of “live and let live.” Is it ignorance or fear? Perhaps it’s a combination of both. As I tell my kids, “One outta two”—meaning statistically, you may encounter a few individuals who might not have your best interests at heart.

Be cautious about whom you trust, especially online.

While I recognize the pessimism in this perspective, I’ve learned through life experiences that not everyone is a friend. It’s wise to be selective about what you share with others.

So, how do we foster change? Acknowledging that many people resist acceptance and kindness presents a challenge. But through our writing, we can bridge that gap. By confronting racism and bigotry with well-crafted articles, we can spark conversations and maybe even some introspection.

I don’t expect everyone to suddenly change their ways after reading my articles, but I hope to provoke thought. Even if I receive negative comments, it means I’ve made an impact.

Instead of blocking those who disagree, I’ve decided to allow them to read my content. Their engagement contributes to my growth, as does the support from my loyal readers.

If they continue to read and engage with my articles on LGBTQ issues, minority rights, and women’s equality, perhaps they’ll start to see things differently. Education and influence can lead to change.

We need more writers willing to stand up for justice. I’ve never hidden behind a pseudonym when discussing critical issues. I invite those who disagree to share their thoughts openly.

It’s essential to keep using our voices. With over 40,000 followers now, my aspiration is to reach 100,000 within the next year. I’m on the lookout for fellow writers who share this mission.
