The extent of our ignorance is striking; we often fail to notice the intricacies of our surroundings and the deeper aspects of existence. Yet, despite this lack of understanding, the pursuit of knowledge continues.

Human beings have an innate ability to adapt, which helps prevent us from feeling overwhelmed by the unknown. With each new generation, we uncover more complexities to be concerned about, and as a result, humanity evolves to cope with these challenges.

For instance, in the past, the outbreak of plagues was terrifying and seemingly random, leaving people feeling powerless. Nowadays, although pandemics remain distressing, we have gained a better understanding of their natural origins and can develop vaccines and treatments. While future viruses may be abundant, we are gradually adjusting to the reality of coexisting with them.

Long ago, it was believed that celestial bodies were fixed within crystal spheres, with Earth at the center of the universe. After a catastrophic flood, a divine promise assured that such destruction would not occur again. Today, however, we find ourselves in the midst of the Sixth Mass Extinction. There are no guarantees that humanity will escape threats from comets, solar flares, or our own errors. Nevertheless, we are learning to adapt to this broader understanding of reality.

Chapter 2: Navigating Uncertainty

In light of these challenges, what is our course of action? We strive to do our best in every situation, just as we have always done. There are no miraculous solutions or superior strategies.
